Question Pal vs Ntsc formats - 10-01-2007, 02:05 PM

Can you view a ripped movie (Divx Or Xvid) from a Pal source DVD on a non Pal
DVD (NTSC) player which supports mp4?Sounds like a stupid question, lol, but some of the movies I've gotten from newsgroups have been SUPER pixellated.Just wondering if maybe that's the reason. They were normal size files......700 Mbyte and higher.

Lightbulb PAL version - 10-02-2007, 01:10 AM

I could be mistaken, but I think the PAL version is a European format. That is probably why you see them pixellated, I have downloaded PAL formats b4 and my converter just codes them in NTSC which is the version you should be using on a NON-PAL dvd player. Hope I made sense.........it took me some time to figure it all out too.
BTW the program I use to convert my movies is Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Creator Pro. It has a lot of options, I can even increase the volume if I need to. PLUS.......it is very simple to use.
Hope I helped you with what you needed.

Divx and Xvid files are region free. I find that the problems with pixellation are usually found on VCD and SVCD formats as these tend to be poorer quality.
